3. Why we collect it
- To publish and manage Therapist profiles and show them to Clients.
- To check that Therapists are real, adults and allowed to work in Australia, and to prevent fake profiles.
- To process top-ups, charge daily fees, issue receipts and keep business records.
- To send account emails: approval, receipts, weekly statistics, low-credit and profile-hidden reminders.
- To moderate content, handle reports and enforce our Terms of Use and Profile Rules.
- To protect the Site, for example by limiting repeated failed sign-ins.
- To show Therapists statistics about views and contact clicks on their profile.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. What is public
Information in a Therapist’s published profile (display name, photos, city and suburb, bio, services, rates and phone number) is public. Phone numbers are hidden behind a button and are not meant to be indexed by search engines, but anyone visiting the Site can view them. Legal name, date of birth, postcode, ID documents, selfies and payment details are never public. Location data stored inside uploaded photos is removed when the photo is processed.
5. Identity documents
- ID documents and verification selfies are kept in a private, access-restricted folder that only our administrator can view.
- They are deleted automatically once verification is complete, after 30 days, or when the account is deleted, whichever comes first.
- We keep a record that verification was completed, but not the document itself.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Site, and only as needed:
- Website hosting: Hostinger International Ltd.
- Email delivery: Hostinger.
- Fonts: Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when pages load.
- Payments: your bank or BPAY when you pay us.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to a law enforcement or regulatory body, or to protect someone’s safety.
7. Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers above may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember settings. Favourites are saved in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but signing in will not work without them.
9. How we protect it
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted administrator access, limits on failed sign-ins, private storage for identity documents and regular software updates. No system is completely secure; if an eligible data breach happens, we will notify the people affected and the OAIC as the law requires.
10. How long we keep it
- Profile and account information: while the account is open, and up to 12 months after it is closed.
- Payment records and receipts: 5 years, for tax purposes.
- ID documents and selfies: see section 5.
- Security logs: up to 90 days.
- Alert subscriptions: until you unsubscribe; testimonials that are never confirmed are deleted after 7 days.
11. Access, correction and deletion
Therapists can update most details in their account. Anyone can ask to see or correct their personal information, or ask us to delete their account, by emailing contact@malemasseurs.com.au. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some records where the law requires.
12. Emails
We send the account and payment emails needed to run your account. Reminder and weekly statistics emails can be switched off in your account. New-therapist alerts are only sent if you asked for them and confirmed your email. We do not send marketing emails without your consent, every alert or marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we never give your email to therapists or anyone else.
13. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, email contact@malemasseurs.com.au. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
